Advanced Water Treatment Program (General Studies)

Who is David H. Paul, Inc.?
David H. Paul, Inc. partners with Arizona Western College to offer the Advanced Water Treatment Degree Program. David H. Paul, Inc. first offered a training program through a community college in 1997 and has grown to offer technical training through associate degree programs throughout the country.

How long will it take me to complete the program?
You will receive a Membrane Water Treatment Specialist Certificate after just two semesters. A High Purity Water Treatment Specialist Certificate is awarded after an additional two semesters. After four complete semesters, and at least 24 general education credits, you will receive an Associate Degree in Advanced Water Treatment (AWT).

What can you do with this degree?
This degree will help you obtain the specialized knowledge needed for an exciting career in advanced water treatment. The AWT program is not at all associated with sewage water. The program prepares students to make clear water, pure. This water is used for drinking but also in many industries as part of the manufacturing process. Some of the companies that have hired our graduates include: Intel, Pfizer, Texas Instruments, Abbott Labs, Fairchild Semiconductor, Motorola, Philips Semiconductor, GE, Raytheon, various municipalities, and others.

What will you learn in this program?
In this program you will have extensive hands-on training where you will be introduced to various aspects of advanced water treatment philosophies and techniques. The half-lab/half-lecture format covers conventional water treatment, membrane water treatment including reverse osmosis, and other high purity water treatment technologies like ion exchange.

What jobs are available after graduation?
The demand for employees with knowledge on this technology is great. The average starting salary of graduates is $39,800, some earn up to $56,000 to start! Graduates of this program have the knowledge to operate, monitor, troubleshoot and chemically clean equipment that most manufacturing facilities cannot function without. Reverse osmosis water treatment has been, and will continue to be necessary for industry, but also crucial for human life.
