Philosophy is the study of the relationships between personal opinions and real-world issues faced by members of a pluralistic, open society.
Typical Classes:
Ancient Philosophy
You will read and analyze various texts concerning the issues of the universe and God, the meaning of life, suffering and death, truth and good versus evil of the philosophers of ancient Greece and Rome with emphasis on Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.
Medical Ethics
Philosophical examination of moral problems that arise in relation to medicine and health care. Topics include end of life, reproduction, patient’s rights, and justice in the distribution of health care.
Philosophy of Religion
Philosophical examination of religious concepts and phenomena. Topics include the nature and existence of God; the justification of religious belief; and the interrelation of religion, meaning, values, and knowledge.
Time to completion, taking classes full-time:
Taking classes full-time, you can complete this 64-credit degree in four semesters.
