Paralegal Studies A.A.S.

What can you do with this degree?
You will be able to obtain an entry-level position within the field. This degree program is designed for students who are only planning to attend college for two years.

What will you learn in this program?
You will learn basic principles of law. You will also develop competency in legal terminology, legal principles, and substantive law in the civil and criminal systems.

What kinds of classes can you look forward to?
Introduction to Law
This lecture course will help you understand and apply basic knowledge of legal issues in the civil and criminal systems.

Legal Research
This course will help you apply your knowledge of electronic media to locate statutes and rules of the law.

Legal Writing
You will develop analysis and application of the writing process used in the practice of law.

Criminal Trial Procedures
This course will help you develop procedures of the criminal trial process.

How long will it take you to complete this degree?
Taking classes full time, you can complete this 64-credit degree in four semesters.
