Accounting AAS

What can you do with this Degree?
Graduates will demonstrate ability in accounting for skilled entry level positions within both the private and public accounting sectors. This degree program is designed for students seeking a two-year vocational degree. A variety of accounting along with complementary business and general education courses will guide the student to establish a clearly focused foundation to enter the accounting profession in a wide range of available positions.

What will you learn in this program?
Students in this program will master the basic accounting principles necessary to work in the accounting field. On top of accounting skills, critical thinking and problem solving training received through this program give graduates the skills and confidence needed to succeed in this field.

What kinds of classes can you look forward to in this program?


Career Accounting 1
This course provides the student with a sound basic knowledge of accounting concepts and procedures and serves as a prerequisite course for Career Accounting 2 and many of the other accounting courses that follow.

Income Tax Procedures

Information and procedures needed to accurately prepare personal tax returns under both federal and Arizona tax statutes.

Introduction to Payroll Accounting

This course introduces the student to the various aspects of payroll, including the applicable elements of the Fair Labor Standards Act that affect payroll operations and employment practices.

How long will it take to complete this degree?
Taking classes full time, you can complete this 64-credit degree in four semesters or two academic years.
