You will learn how to establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment for infants and toddlers.
Typical Classes:
Building Relationships with Parents
This class will help you develop methods of effective communications and cooperation between parents and early childhood program setting.
Enhancing Family Involvement
You will learn ways to involve parents and the community in the early childhood program.
Physical Development in Infancy
This course will show the normal sequence of physical development in infants. The emphasis will be on developing the total physical development for infants and utilizing observations to individualize the program for each child.
• Important Requirement •
Students are required to document 15 hours of working with children in the designated setting per credit. These hours can be at an approved worksite or at the AWC Child Development Learning Lab
Time to completion, taking classes full-time:
Taking classes full-time, you can complete this 17-credit certificate in four semesters

This certificate will prepare you for an entry-level position in an infant and toddler educational field.
