What will I learn in this program?
You will learn how to write computer programs, do systems analysis, and use databases in a business environment.
Typical Classes:
Computer Programming Logic
This course is an introduction to the fundamental techniques used in designing computer programs, where you will learn the industry-accepted standards.
Programming Languages
You will learn Visual Basic and C+. If planning to transfer to the NAU program, you will also take Java Programming.
Structured Systems Analysis and Design
You will learn the fundamental tools and techniques used in analyzing organizational information systems. Topics include systems research, design, revision, and implementation of information systems.
Entry-level Database
In this class you will learn the use of databases including: database design, starting the program, creating tables, entering data, using help, editing data, viewing and changing the table structure, sorting data, query operations, and linking tables. You will also learn how to install and configure systems.

Taking classes full-time, you can complete this 32-credit certificate in two semesters.
Career Options:
This certificate will prepare you for an entry-level position as a computer programmer, systems analyst, or database administrator.
