LMT Program Application
MASSAGE THERAPY PROGRAM APPLICATION PROCESS
You must register for Arizona Western College through the admission office before you begin the process of applying for the Massage Therapy Program.
This two semester program begins in either fall semester (August) OR spring semester (January). In order to be eligible to sign up for LMT classes, you must be accepted into the program through the following process:
-
Contact the Massage Therapy Program office 317-6056 or 317-7529 and ask for an information packet to be mailed to you. You can also download a packet from this webpage.
-
This packet will have all the information you will need to become familiar with the Massage Therapy Program and the requirements for program participation.
-
Visit the AWC library: read the Massage Therapy Student Guide, view short video about the profession (ask at the front counter in the library to check out for in-library use only).
-
Fill out the application for the massage therapy program. The application is available in the application packet or you can download it from the AWC website at listed above.
-
Turn in your application at the Career & Technical Education Division Office located in the CTE Building on the AWC Main Campus or at our off-site 2451 S. Avenue A, Suite E101 (behind Kachina Medical Plaza). Applications Accepted Monday – Thursday, 9 AM to 3 PM.
-
To meet admission levels you must read at a college level (a CPT-R score of 65 - 70) and you must be eligible for Math 105 or higher (a score of 25 – 60). You can contact the campus testing center to set up these placement tests.
-
Once your application and testing scores are reviewed and verified by the Massage Therapy Program office, you will be notified of your interview date/time. The personal interview (by appointment only) will be with a panel of Program Advisory Committee members and faculty.
-
Application deadlines are in March for fall start classes and September for spring start classes. Check with the program office for specific deadlines in the year you are applying.
-
Notification of acceptance or denial of program admission will be sent by postal mail after the interviews are complete. Please no phone calls to the program office. Your admission letter will include your health requirements package. All health requirement deadlines MUST be met, with no exceptions. Students will receive signed registration form allowing them to enroll for required major courses. Successful completion of health requirements, drug testing and back ground check are the final steps of requirements for program admission.
-
Orientation is mandatory and will be considered your first class meeting. Orientation information will be sent to you with your letter of acceptance.
