Welcome to the AWC Radiologic Technology Department

Radiologic Technology Program Mission Statement:
The Radiologic Technology program is a a comprehensive competency-based program of study that prepares students to sit for the National Registry Examination offered by the American Registry of Registered Technologists and allows successful students to graduate with expertise at the entry level in the field of diagnostic radiology. Students will be able to use critical thinking skills and the application of technology for the fullfillment of personal goals, for community-centered professional practice, or to be eligible for education and training in other specialized diagnostic imaging fields.

  • We offer an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree that may be completed within 2 years of admission into the program.
  • Graduates are eligible to seek national licensure as a Registered Technologist R.T. (R.) and must be licensed by the State of Arizona.
  • The program is designed to graduate competent entry level diagnostic radiologic technologists with eligibility to be trained in other Specialized Imaging areas such as Computerized Tomography, Ultrasound, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Special Procedures.

 

 

 

The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • This is a new program that accepted its first class in May of 2005.
  • The program prepares students to pass the National Registry Board Exam which is required by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to become a registered technologist. The program will admit 20 students every summer semester. It is affiliated with Yuma Regional Medical Center and several medical offices in the Yuma community.
  • The faculty and staff include the Director of Radiologic Technology, 1 full time Clinical Coordinator, 1 adjunct Clinical Instructor, 1 Senior Secretary and several available adjunct faculty members who are qualified and experienced in the field of Radiologic Technology .
