On behalf of the faculty and academic staff of Arizona Western College, I welcome you to our community of learners. As the chief academic officer of the College, my priorities focus on student success, quality academic programs, support and development of our quality faculty, and improvement of teaching and learning across our College District.
I am privileged to have been a part of AWC over the past 8 years and watched our institution transformed by new facilities in Yuma, San Luis, Parker and Quartzsite. These changes have helped to create a learning environment that is innovative and better able to serve the educational needs of the communities we serve. During this time, the College has continued to add new educational offerings and programs to meet student needs.
You are joining a community of learners and highly talented and qualified faculty who work together to assist students to achieve their educational goals. I believe you will find AWC to be welcoming and yet challenging as you move through your educational career with us. In addition to mastering the content in your chosen field of study, you will be encouraged to think critically and examine and understand diverse viewpoints. We hope to help you acquire the knowledge and skills essential to be a life-long learner and successful in our 21st century environment.
