FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q.  Will my e-mail be moved from the old web-based Outlook to my new web-based Outlook?
A.  Yes.  No action is required on your part.

Q.  What about my Contacts and Distribution Lists?
A.  Both shall remain intact.

Q.  Why am I being redirected to a different server?
A.  We are migrating users in phases.  Until all AWC employees are migrated to the new server, those who are using the new application will function through one server (mobile), and those who have NOT yet been migrated will continue to function through another server (legacy).

Q.  Why am I getting a pop-up asking me about Active Directory and/or Auto Discovery?
A.  Once we’ve migrated you to the new server, your account will have to re-synchronize, which may require you to type in your user name and password.  If this is the case, be sure to check the “Remember This” box so you aren’t prompted to enter the information the next time.

Q.  Why are my Inbox messages arranged in a strange manner?
A.  Microsoft has incorporated in the new Outlook Web App a default message arrangement called “conversation view.”  If you like this view, you need not change anything.  If you want to change your view back to the “classic” arrangement, please follow the directions found here: Outlook Web App 2010 – Turn Off Conversation View.

Q.  Why are we upgrading?
A.  We are upgrading for several reasons, but the three most important are:
    - increased security.
    - improved browser support, making Outlook Web Access fully functional in Internet Explorer and other browsers, as well.
    - ease of server management.
