Part-Time Positions

Associate Faculty

Part-time Faculty/Instructor teaching interest forms are continually accepted for classes being taught during day-time and evening hours, weekends and in seminar formats. You can obtain a teaching interest form on our website. Transfer disciplines require a minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline. Career and special interest courses (not for transfer) require: Associate degree, certificate, or licensure at the level being taught and 3 years of related work experience may be substituted for a baccalaureate degree. Return completed form, resume, and a copy of your transcripts to: Learning Support Services (LSS), P.O. Box 929, Yuma, AZ 85366. Upon review of your interest form, the LSS office will contact you regarding your teaching interest for AWC. For additional information please call (928) 317-7661. Please complete both the application and a teaching interest form to be considered for Associate Faculty positions.

JOB DEVELOPER/PLACEMENT SPECIALIST - $12.27 p/hr. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or one of the Social Sciences. Possess a general knowledge of the community college and its philosophy. Experience with activities, instruments and resources designed to assist individuals with career exploration. Comfortable working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, one on one or in groups. Familiar with major employers in community. Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Knowledgeable of local labor market. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

ACADEMIC SKILLS COACH, K.E.Y.S. TRIO Student Support Services Program - $11.00 p/hr. Associates Degree preferred. Must possess strong people skills to include experience working with students of diverse academic, social, and ethnic backgrounds. Experience with planning student activities and events desired. Mentoring experience a plus. Knowledge of AWC campus resources. Candidates must possess strong math skills, and must have completed MAT 151 (College Algebra) with a grade of A or B. Candidates must possess strong writing skills, and must have completed ENG 102 (Freshmen Composition) with a grade of A or B. Tutoring experience a plus. Excellent communication skills to include the ability to present on different topics to include study skills, time management, and test taking. Public speaking experience a plus. Ability to facilitate and lead student groups in academic structured and unstructured environments, specifically study groups and supplemental academic sessions. Possess initiative and drive to conduct student outreach. Flexible schedule a must.

Classified

POLICE OFFICER - $18.13 p/hr. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent, including graduation from an accredited Law Enforcement Academy, and a currently certified Arizona police officer. Must be available to work a rotating shift assignment, including day, afternoon, and midnight shifts. Preference will be given to candidates who possess an associate degree or a minimum of 60 college credits.

PEER TUTOR, K.E.Y.S. TRIO Student Support Services Program - $9.76 p/hr. Must possess good interpersonal communication skills, ease in relating to students from various educational, ethnic, and social backgrounds. Must be able to work with underprepared and special needs students. Ability to work with other tutors, staff, and AWC faculty. Initiative to conduct continuous student outreach is a must. Candidates must possess high level of maturity and professionalism. Flexible schedule preferred.
