Learn more about the wonders of the living world...

Biology, broadly speaking, covers an impressive spectrum of ideas related to the study of living organisms on Earth. It encompasses the study of the very small and the unseen (bacteria, viruses, cells, cellular metabolism, etc.) and the very large (animals, plants, biomes, ecosystems, habitats, and more). Specialized areas of study include an organism's morphology (how its organized and put together), its physiology and anatomy (how the myriad number of intricate parts work together or separately), individual and collective behavior (why do certain organisms migrate and others don't? Why do some organisms live in packs or herds and others individually?), origin (where it came from), and distribution (where it's found).
