Computer Lab

The Academic Complex Computer Lab is an integral component of the partnership between Arizona Western and Northern Arizona University in Yuma. The ACCL serves the computing technology needs of students from both institutions, as well as the general public on a space available basis.

Counseling and Advising

Once you have been accepted by the college, you should begin the next step of your journey with Counseling and Advising.

Disability Support Services

The Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) Office provides reasonable academic accommodations for students with documented disabilities in college so they can receive a quality education which prepares them for their future careers.

Enrollment Services

The Enrollment Services department represents an ongoing effort to provide students with up to date information on admissions, registration, student records, International Student programs, student recruitment and outreach, and important information to include transcripts, degrees and certificates, residency determination and graduation requirements.

Financial Aid

The Financial Aid Office administers and coordinates aid funds from federal, state, institutional, and private sources. The four major categories of funds include scholarships, grants, student employment, and student loans.

 

Technology Help Desk - WebAdvisor, E-mail, & Blackboard

Blackboard is AWC’s Learning Management System (LMS). Blackboard is a Web-based server software platform that creates the classroom environment in which you will participate in your course. If you do not have a Blackboard course account, click here to learn how to obtain one.

The Arizona Western College Technology Help Desk is open Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST).

The Help Desk can provide support to you for issues related to:

  • Logging into WebAdvisor, ToroMail, & BlackBoard
  • E-mail communications
  • Uploading and downloading files
  • On-site navigation

The Help Desk can be reached by e-mailing helpdesk@azwestern.edu or by calling 928.317.5892.  A Help Desk Representative will respond to requests for assistance within 24 hours.  Assistance requests received after hours will be answered the following business day.

Students with academic-oriented questions should email their instructors to receive information on exams, assigned readings, lectures and additional course content.

Library Services

Arizona Western College Academic Library – Online
There is easy access to Library materials and services via the library's web page. Students and faculty can:

  • locate books and media
  • find citations or full text articles in more than databases
  • request delivery of articles, books or media
  • locate full text electronic books or media
  • place or access electronic reserves
  • receive research assistance
  • place orders using the Web

Placement Testing Services

Arizona Western College has established a Placement Testing Service to ensure appropriate placement of our students into English, Mathematics, General Education, and ESL courses. The purpose of the placement program is to enhance the opportunity for student success by assessing skills prior to enrollment in classes.

Registration

Students are to register as designated in the College Calendar and in the manner specified in the Class Schedule. To be eligible to register each student must have completed all the admission requirements and have met the prerequisites (PRE) and/or corequisites (COREQ) listed in the Course Description section of the Catalog.

Student Support Services

Our mission is to retain, graduate, and transfer students to four-year universities in good academic standing.

Transcript Request

Click here to go to WebAdvisor. Under "Academic Profile" section click on the "Transcript request" link. Once there, you will be prompted for your user name and password. Enter the information and proceed through the instructions. If you don not have a password click the "I'm new to WebAdvisor" link at the bottom of the page to to get your user name and password. Transcripts are available at no charge and may take up to three days to process. There is a limit of five (5) official transcript requests per week.

Transfer Information

Currently Enrolled Students may submit an Evaluation of Credits request for evaluation of previous course work.

Tutoring

The Student Success Center offers academic tutoring services to all AWC students. Students can receive help from expert tutoring staff in almost every academic area. In addition to the tutoring staff, the center is equipped with computerized tutorials, which are designed to help students improve their skills in many different subject areas.

Tutorials

Blackboard is AWC’s Learning Management System (LMS). Blackboard is a Web-based server software platform that creates the classroom environment in which you will participate in your course. These tutorials are provided to assist you with getting into and navigating within the Blackboard Learning System.

Web ADVISOR

WebAdvisor provides many online resources for Students at the college such as: Search fro Classes, Registration, Drop and Add, Final Grades, and view Unofficial Transcripts. In order to use WebAdvisor you must be a current or former (1987 or later) student at AWC and have a valid email address on file.

ToroMail

ToroMail is the official email program of Arizona Western College. In order to use ToroMail, you will need a username and password. If you do not already have a username and password please visit https://accounts.azwestern.edu to activate your account. If you do already have an AWC username and password but have forgotten either one contact the same. If you have both a username and password that you have already been using you may click here to gain access to ToroMail.
