Student attitudinal Surveys

A Penny For Your Thoughts?

In my nearly two decades in the college classroom I'll state unequivocally that student performance is related to a student's attitude about the class. So why not find out what students' attitudes and perceptions are? Not surprisingly, attitudinal surveys (also called affective surveys) come in many forms and address a range of issues of interest to faculty. In general, attitudinal surveys consist of a series of numerically scaled agree or disagree statements that students answer. The links below give some ideas to the type of questions that you perhaps may want to use in your evaluation of student attitudes and/or perceptions.
