Moving to Arizona Western College
"I'm very excited about coming to Arizona Western College. When I visited AWC ..... as a candidate for the presidency, I had heard some good things and had read some good things about the college, but really knew nothing firsthand.
What a treat it was when I arrived and was greeted by so many faculty, staff, students, and community members who seemed genuinely excited about AWC and committed to its advancement. The dedication to students, the outreach to multiple communities, the constant pursuit of excellence all came through, and was further amplified when I met with members of the Governing Board. And it all became equally exciting to me, and incredibly appealing.
Under Dr. Shoening's leadership, AWC has created not simply a vision but a well defined path to excellence, to achieving the mission of the community college at the very highest levels. I'm eager to help extend that path over the coming years, and I'm deeply honored to have been asked to serve Arizona Western College as its next President."
