Dr. Glenn E. Mayle

Dr. Mayle and his wife, Ethel, retired from Oklahoma A & M College, Miami, Oklahoma, where he served as president from 1998 to 2009. Less than a year into his retirement, Dr. Mayle learned of the vacancy at Arizona Western College. As a past employee of AWC and with a deep respect and love for the college, he accepted the interim and then acting president position. On June 12, 2012, the District Governing Board extended Dr. Mayle's contract through June 2015.
Mayle's leadership and management style reveals his high standards of ethics, while providing an atmosphere of mutual trust and support. An energetic leader, he has brought stability to the AWC campus.
Following the June 2009 retirement of AWC President Dr. Don Schoening and the May 2010 departure of President Nigliazzo who left Yuma to assume the inaugural presidency at Texas A & M Central Texas, Dr. Mayle was the third AWC president in 11 months.
Mayle earned his Doctorate in Educational Administration from Northern Arizona University. His dissertation was on Arizona Community College finances which serves him well during the current economic climate. His sound fiscal management is a strength while leading Arizona Western College through strategic allocation during reduced funding. His budget building model reflects his commitment to faculty and student learning priorities.
