The District Governing Board of the Arizona Western College District is made up of five persons, elected from the geographical district of Yuma and La Paz County. They are elected to six-year staggered terms.Current members of the board and their terms are listed. Due to recent retirements of long-serving board members there have been short-term appointments that will be on the ballot at the upcoming General Election.
Yuma District #3 - Dennis Booth - December 31, 2012. Dennis was appointed to the board in August 2011 to replace retiring board member Dr. Marjorie Barcomb. This position will be on the ballot in the November 2012 General Election for a 2 year term to run through December 2014. It will then be on the ballot again in November 2014 for a six year term to run through December 2020.
Yuma District #4 - Doug Mellon - December 31, 2012. Doug was appointed to the board in August 2011 to replace retiring board member Alicia Valdez. This position will be on the ballot in the November 2012 General Election for a six year term to run through December 31, 2018.
Yuma District #5 - Olivia Zepeda - December 31, 2012. Olivia was appointed to the board March 5, 2012 to replace retiring board member Steve Shadle. This position will be on the ballot in the November 2012 General Election for a six year term to run through December 31, 2018.
La Paz District #2 - Anna Camacho was appointed to fill the unexpired term of retiring board member Pam Stroud. Camacho's appointment became effective February 6, 2012 with an appointment to run through December 31, 2012. This position will be on the ballot in the November 2012 General Election for a six year term to run through December 31, 2018.
La Paz District #1 - Randy Hartless was elected and assumed his duties January 2009. His term is scheduled to run through December 31, 2014. At that time the position will be on the ballot for a six year term to run through December 31, 2020.
