The District Governing Board of the Arizona Western College District is made up of five people elected to represent Yuma and La Paz Counties. Current members of the board and their terms are - -
Yuma District #3 - Dennis Booth was successful in his bid for election to continue representing Yuma District #3. Booth was appointed to the board in August 2011 filling the vacancy created by retiring board member Dr. Marjorie Barcomb. The District #3 position was on the ballot in the November 2012 General Election for a 2 year term to run through December 2014 when the position will be on the ballot for a six year term through December 2020.
Yuma District #4 - Olivia Zepeda was successful in her election bid to represent District #4. Zepeda was appointed to the board March 5, 2012 to represent district #5, filling a vacancy created by retiring board member Steve Shadle. After the adoption of the redistricting map, Zepeda's residence was located in District #4. Zepeda is currently serving a six year term running through December 31, 2018.
Yuma District #5 - Maria Chavoya was successful in her write-in candidacy to represent District 5. Chavoya was elected to serve a six year term running through December 31, 2018.
La Paz District #2 - Melissa Wright was successful in her election bid to represent La Paz District #2. Wrightwas elected to serve a six year term running through December 31, 2018.
La Paz District #1 - Randy Hartless was elected and assumed his duties January 2009. Randy recently resigned his position from the board and there is currently a search underway for a replacement.
