Our Mission
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, and Grants serves the Arizona Western College community by providing the most up-to-date and accurate information possible for timely decision-making, overseeing research, and pursuing external funding in support of institution-wide initiatives.
Annually our office collects district-wide requests for data and research for the next academic year. These requests are then incorporated into a printed schedule called the Institutional Research Plan. If you would like a copy of the 2009-2010 Institutional Research Plan you may contact Betty Lopez. April-May is the period in which data and/or research requests are collected for the Institutional Research Plan. Ad hoc requests are also completed as time permits.
Note: Plan ahead, prepare, and timely submit your data and/or research request to be included in the next Institutional Research Plan!
Although institutional research represents a little more than half of our office's work we also provide technical assistance for department- or division -based grants, and write and coordinate district-wide grant efforts; support district-wide efforts, including assessment of learning, re-accreditation, retention, and enrollment management and marketing; track longitudinal measures of institutional effectiveness; administer AWC's Institutional Review Board for oversight of research; and support the president as members of his office, cabinet, and council.
Our Goal
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, and Grants goal for Institutional Effectiveness is to maintain a systematic and sustainable Institutional Effectiveness System that demonstrates the ability of the college to match performance to its stated mission.
